Welcome to the website of The Native Plant Society of Northeastern Ohio.

Welcome to the website of our Society.  Our mission is to promote the study, appreciation, and conservation of native plants and plant communities of Ohio.  We have designed this site as a gateway to the best information available on the web about native plants, both in your own backyard and around the country.  We have organized the material so that you can easily find information about a diverse number of topics, from “Landscaping with Native Plants,” to resources and other organizations fostering knowledge and care of native plants, to walks and other events about native plants.  We hope that you will learn and enjoy as you explore what is offered here.  We would love to have you join us on one of our native plant walks.

2012 is our 30th Anniversary!

The Native Plant Society of Northeastern Ohio is celebrating 30 years. The Society was founded in 1982 by a group of native plant enthusiasts. Their mission was to promote the study, appreciation and conservation of native plants and plant communities of Ohio. After 30 years, that mission is more important than ever. One of the ways we would like to celebrate is by asking you to send in your favorite native plant photograph. If you wish, you can also include something about why this plant is your favorite. We will feature your submissions in the December 2012 Journal. You can submit your photographs to dbpolice@roadrunner.com in jpg format. So get your cameras out and start clicking! You have plenty of time to submit a photograph.
